M-1911 Models : Les Baer

Les Baer is a famous pistolsmith, whose work is quite well known in the shooting circles. He is currently producing various models, based of course on the M-1911 pistol. These models range from heavily-customized race guns for Open IPSC-style competition, to carry guns.

Monolith Pistol.

A special pistol which will appeal to those in IPSC Limited Class competition or Centerfire Bullseye. It features a long dustcover, which means that it has some more weight out in the front to tame recoil. It comes in either full-size (Government model length) or in in the new Baer size called Stinger, which is a Commander length slide on an Officer's size frame.


Swift Response Pistol.

One of my favorite pistols, but the one with the high capacity Para Ordnance Frame and fixed Novak Low-mount sights. Features include:

Concept II Pistol.

Same as the Concept I but with Baer deluxe fixed combat sight instead of the LBC adjustable.


Concept III Pistol.

Government-size pistol with stainless steel frame and blue slide. Front strap is checkered at 30 lpi. All other features as per Concept I.


Concept IV Pistol.

Same as Concept III, but with with a Baer deluxe fixed combat rear sight replacing the LCB adjustable.


Concept V Pistol.

Same as Concept I, but totally made of stainless steel with a 30 lpi checkered front strap..


Concept V 6" Pistol.

Same as Concept V, but with a 6" slide and barrel.


Concept VI Pistol.

Same as Concept V, but with a Baer deluxe fixed combat rear sight.


Concept VI Pistol LW.

Same as Concept VI, but built on a lightweight aluminum frame and features a supported chamber NM barrel and a Bear Coat finish on the lower.


Concept VII Pistol.

Now with night sights! A Commander-size gun (or Commanche, per Baer's nomenclature) made of blue steel, with Baer deluxe fixed combat rear sight. Front strap is checkered at 30 lpi.


Concept VIII Pistol.

Now with night sights! Same as Concept VII, but in stainless steel.


Concept IX Pistol.

Same as Concept VII, but with an aluminum frame for lighter weight, a supported chamber NM barrel, a Bear Coat finish on the lower, and Baer deluxe fixed combat style sights.


Concept X Pistol.

Same as Concept IX, but with stainless steel slide.


Premier II Pistol.

A Government length pistol with the following features:

Caliber: .45 ACP; .400 COR-BON®; Winchester 9 X 23; (.357 Magnum ballistics in a semiauto). The Premier II© is also available as a dual caliber .45 ACP/.400 COR-BON® combo, with both barrels fit at the same time to guarantee easy interchangeability and equal accuracy for both calibers.
