LaserMax just came out (May 2001) with a new, fully enclosed version of their LaserMax Laser sight, for the M-1911. From the picture you see below, it looks as if the sight is activated by s small rotational switch, integrated in the slide release lever. From their literature, the sight is totally internal to the pistol (except the activation switch), so you may still use all the accessories you have, such as holsters etc. On top, it does not change the functionality of the pistol, so you may continue to use whatever grips you had, or safeties, etc.. It is not recommended to be used with ultra-tight competition pistols and cannot be used on Para Ordnance (or I shall presume, any other pistol with a ramp barrel installed). Its dot point can be adjusted to match the impact point of your pistol. Finally, it looks as if it is available only for the Government size pistols, and it is a fuly reversable installation, in the sense that you may remove it and the pistol gets back to its original shape. Neat!
