Parts Manufacturers : Jarvis

Jarvis Inc. is the third company I know of, that produce a .22 LR conversion kit for the M-1911. The Jarvis unit is made of steel, it accepts Colt Ace magazines and can shoot hyper-velocity .22 LR. It comes in standard Government length and also in extended (6") length. According to Jarvis, their kit fits all frames (Government, Commander and Officers).

Another interesting item they produce, is the Carbine Conversion Unit (CCU). It is designed to allow the pistol's lower half to slide into place, resulting in an extremely versatile smooth functioning semi-auto carbine firing the same cartridges which the pistol uses. Change back and forth from handgun to carbine with no tools, fitting, or modifications. Uses pistol magazine. Models for the 1911, Glock, Beretta/Taurus, Browning Hi-Power. Chamberings in .45ACP, 9mm, 40S&W, 10mm, .357SIG, .400 Cor-Bon, and 22 LR.

Jarvis also produce some M-1911 barrels, with and without integral feed ramp.

And the most interesting part, in Jarvis catalog, is what they call the "1911 Kam-Lok". This is a very peculiar system, which transforms the unlocking mechanism of the M-1911, to work like a Browning's P-35 Hi-Power, without a link! I am not sure what the advantages of such a system are, so I cannot recommend it or condemn it.
