This company is producing a 22LR Conversion Kit for the M-1911A1 pistols. The kit comes in a fitted case, together with one 22LR magazine, high-profile fixed sights. Spare magazines are available. PRODUCT INFORMATION

ITEM: The "Ciener" 1911A1 .45ACP Pistol .22LR Conversion Kit

CONTENTS: The unit consists of a new slide, .22 LR barrel, return spring and guide rod, recoil buffer and 10 round magazine in a fitted plastic case.

FITS: The unit fits all 1911 .45 ACP pistols whose dimensional tolerances meet those of the U.S. Government Prints including Colt series 70 & 80 Regular, Gold Cup and their clones. Standard Model Unit - The standard unit fits all full size 1911's. Combat Commander Unit - The Combat Commander unit has a 3/4 inch shorter slide. Officer's Model - The Officer's Model has a 3/4 inch shorter slide and a shorter magazine. Platinum Cup Model - The Platinum Cup Model has deluxe features designed for the advanced shooter. It closely resembles Colt's Gold Cup model.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE: Direct blow back design, as are all other .22 firearms.

FLOATING CHAMBER?: Since the slide is made of light weight alloy, there is no need for the floating chamber which was subject to regular fowling.

LAST ROUND HOLD OPEN FEATURE?: The unit magazine's manufacturing technique does not allow for the retention of this feature.

INSTALLATION: Field strip the firearm as for cleaning to include removal of the slide/barrel/return spring upper assembly. Install the unit's sub-caliber assemble, re- insert the take down pin and insert the unit's magazine. Approximate conversion time is ten seconds.

FUNCTIONING: The unit functions FLAWLESSLY (guaranteed) on good quality High Velocity, Hyper Velocity and most all Standard Velocity quality .22 LR ammunition.

ACCURACY: Standard and Combat Commander/Officer Model Units - Even though they are designed for pleasure shooting, due to the very tight attention to precision manufacturing the non- target models are providing mean shot groups of 1 to 1 1/2 inches at 50 feet. Platinum Cup Model Unit -It has several specifications that provide additional performance beyond the outstandingly good standard models' but exact results depend on the individual shooter and firearm.

FRONT SIGHT: Standard and Combat Commander/Officer Model Units - The front sight is part of the slide. It is machined from the solid stock as the slide is machined. Platinum Cup Model Unit - The front sight is accentuated length wise and serrated.

REAR SIGHT: Standard and Combat Commander/Officer Model Units - The rear sight is a drift adjustable type. The dovetail slot in the slide is the same size as the standard 1911A1 slot so any adjustable sights made for the 1911A1 will fit. Platinum Cup Model Unit - The rear sight is a "Millet" Gold Cup target adjustable type inlaid directly into the raised serrated flat top rail of the slide's top.

MAGAZINE: The magazine's capacity is 10 rounds. We have two patents on its design. It is designed for this unit and can not be used with any other kits that we know of.

PLASTIC STORAGE BOX: The custom fitted box allows for the storage of the original parts from the firearm it is installed on while the unit is in use.

DISASSEMBLE FOR CLEANING (FIELD STRIPPING): Slide/Barrel/Return Spring Top End - The barrel is installed into the slide from the rear underside similar to the Beretta 92 pistol. There is no need therefore for the front bushing/lock. It is retained by the pressure of the return spring. Magazine - The unit magazine fully disassembles in seconds. It features patented tongue-in-groove inter-connected back and bottom plates which slide out so the interior can be easily cleaned.

MATERIAL: Slide - The slide is machined on Mazak CNC equipment out of solid bar 7075 T6 Alloy. Barrel - The barrel is machined from E. R. Shaw pre-rifled 4140 gun barrel stock.

FINISH: Alloy Parts - The unit's alloy parts are Mil-Spec Anodized and Teflon coated. The unit and magazine are offered in Gloss Black, Matte Black, or Silver at no additional charge. You must specify your color choice if other than Gloss Black. Steel Parts: The steel parts are Mil-Spec Parkerized as needed.

WEIGHT: The unit weighs approximately 1 lb. without the plastic box, 1.25 lb. in its box.

GUARANTEE/WARRANTY: The unit is warranted for one year against defects in materials or workmanship.

In the 1998 Shot Show, Ciener showed also their new Ciener Platinum Cup" conversion kit. This kit, has tighter tolerances than the standard one, and it approximates the appearance of the 1960's Colt Gold Cup pistol.
