Shock Tec is produced in Germany and it is a special guide rod which includes an elastopneumatic damping system, which reduces the force with which the slide hits the frame when recoiling. I am not sure how much these systems work, I am soon going to make a test with a couple of such devices, and I'll report my findings in the "Product Tests" folder.
