| M-1911 Grips : Pearce |
Pearce Grip Inc. is producing a modular grip system for the M-1911. Their grips comprise of two rubber grip panels (the right one with a palm swell, ala Pachmayr) and a special section designed to fit over the front strap, which has finger grooves molded in. This part is secured to the gun, with very slim rubber areas which are held in place by the side panels. The user can select to use either the grip panels alone, or to also install the front strap part, according to his likings. It is important to note, that the front part can be used with any grip panels, not only the ones manufactured by Pearce.
Here are some pictures of the Pearce grips.
Here you can see the Pearce grip on a Combat Commander.
And here on a Government model.
And here, you can see the front strap of the Pearce grip, used in conjunction with a standard set of wooden grips.
And here are the side panels of the Pearce grips, used alone, without the front strap.
Here you can see Pearce grips on Para Ordnance P-10.
And here you can see the same grips on a P-14.
I thank Lane Pearce for sending me these photos.
