STI is producing several M-1911 models, based on their high-capacity polymer frame, but also on the traditional, signle-stack 1911 frame. The idea behind STI's guns, is that these pistols come from the factory with most of the modifications that modern shooters do on their guns. So instead of buying a standard M1911 and have a gunsmith do all kind of mods on it, STI supplies ready-made guns, with these mods made at the factory.
