M-1911 Models : Charles Daly

I spotted this new model in the "Buyers Guide" of Combat Handguns for 1999. Charles Daly is one of the oldest names in the firearms business, being one of the two partners of "Schoverling & Daly" sporting goods business. This firm has undergone several buyouts, and today, it is quite well-known in the field of high quality shotguns (over-unders, side-by-side) etc. Charles Daly are now in the handguns market, with three 1911 offerings.

Their first model, called "Field Enhanced 1911" is a basic M-1911, which features the following characteristics:

Extended hi-rise beavertail grip safety, combat trigger, combat hammer, beveled magazine well, flared and lowered ejection port, dovetailed front and dovetailed snag-free low profile rear sights, and hand checkered double diamond hardwood grips

Their second mode is called the Empire, and is made of stainless steel. It comes in three different lengths, like the Field model.

Their third mode is called the Target 1911, and they come with adjustable rear sights.

Their final offering is a high-capacity 1911, based on the Bul M-5 frame.

Their prices are very competitive.
