Ed Brown is a famous pistolsmith, whose work is quite well known in the shooting circles. He is currently producing three models, based of course on the M-1911 pistol. These models are :

Classic Custom

The Classic Custom is exactly what it's name implies - Classic. All the most proven and popular modifications are incorporated into the Classic Custom. This is our finest work, and this particular combination has made up most of our sales since 1975. The unique slide has been given a special treatment to set it apart from any other pistol. The rear-only cocking serrations are wide square cut and match the angle of the grip, similar to the original National Match guns or a Colt Gold Cup. The smooth sides are brought to a 1500 grit bright mirror finish by hand, to contrast and enhance the glass bead finished frame. This bright polish really makes the "Classic Custom" engraving stand out! The top of the slide is flattened and finely grooved to provide a no glare runway effect that naturally guides your eye to the front sight. The rear of the slide is serrated 50 lines per inch to match the Bo-Mar adjustable sight and eliminate distracting light reflection.
