Greece is the country where I was born and live, and which I love. For those of you who have never visited Greece, here is a page devoted to this beautiful country. Here, you can expect to find things related (in one way or another) to Greece, its history and traditions, its culture, its people. A lot of this information will be in the form of links to other pages. When it is not for technical matters, my writing is not the best in the world, so I prefer to leave this task to more experienced persons. Here we go, on our virtual tour of Greece.

Starting with some geographical data, Greece is located in the south-east of Europe, actually it is the most south-eastern country of Europe. It is mostly surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and it's bordering Albania, FYROM, Bulgaria to the North and Turkey to the East. All other sides are sea coasts, and very bautiful ones for that matter. There are a lot of Greek islands spread around in the Aegean Sea (on the easter side of Greece) and some more (actually seven) in the Ionian Sea, to the west. To learn more on the various areas of Greece, click on the red spots on the map.

City Info

OK, suppose that you are planning a trip to Greece, and that you are one of those types that like getting organized to the extreme. In this site of Ariadne, you will find useful telephones, addresses etc, for Greece two major cities, Athens and Thessaloniki. What do you call instead of 911 in Athens? What are the major hospitals, just in case? What museums can I visit? How can I call a taxi? Here is the answer to all those questions.

Traffic Info

An excellent effort by the National Technical University of Athens, which shows, on your screen and on real-time, the traffic you will find if you hit the roads in Athens. Congratulations guys (and gals), excellent work!
